Anwyn -- Setting for Novus 2e
« on: November 17, 2021, 07:37:04 PM »

In addition to working on Novus 2e, I am also working on a setting for Novus 2e as well. I call this setting Anwyn, and it is very loosely based on  Celtic/Irish mythology and tales of the mythical island of Hy Brasil.

The setting is an untold millenia old, but has only been populated, most recently, for less than 150 years. The most recent inhabitants were transplanted there through the aid of a small group of deities.

The player races listed in the Novus 2e overview are the ones that populate Anwyn, but other races could be there as well, because the setting is actually within its own little pocket universe. The region known as Esker Archia (the Esker Highlands) is filled with all sorts of portals (stone circles, megalithic arches, natural stone archways, etc.) that lead to many different worlds and that operate randomly.

Another area, Ilthach, has burial crypts, tombs, entire graveyards, etc fade into and out of existence in a random fashion. often depositing undead of one sort or another in what is often called the Haunted Steppes. Here is a map of the setting.
